The Refrigerator Defrost Heater Assembly connects the defrost heater and motor to electrical circuits in the refrigerator. The assembly includes the thermal fuse that protects the evaporator from overheating. This part is designed to be used with select Whirlpool® refrigerators; check to see if your model number is compatible. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the refrigerator and novice repair experience. You must unplug the refrigerator or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also turn off the refrigerator's water supply before you begin.
