On September 28, 2019, P. Shaun Bradshaw was elected as the 167th Grand Master of Masons in North Carolina. Upon being elected, Most Worshipful Bradshaw introduced himself to the brethren as a "proud Masonic Esotericist" and had every intention of making his year as Grand Master about discussing the esoteric and philosophical aspects of the Craft. However, Providence had its own plan. While Bro. Bradshaw was able to make some headway in introducing esotericism to the brander, membership in the Grand Lodge of North Carolina; much of his tenure was focused on managing a 30,000+ member organization through the trials of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as a period of social and racial unrest.
